The root chakra, also known as Muladhara, is located at the base of the spine, wraps around your waist area and extends down to the soles of the feet. It represents the core/“root” of who we are / our foundation in life. It also represents our body's immune system. So whatever makes you feel a sense of safety and security, whether it be physically or in life in general (having stable income, marriage, living situation, finances, etc).
This being imbalanced can show up as symptoms of feelings of inferiority, fear, anxiety, low self esteem and any other feelings of worthlessness or low confidence.
Physically, this can show up as constipation or diarrhea, sciatica pain, gas or kidney (or any of the lower body organs) problems, and even leg or feet problems.
